Verified through July 2026. Ordinary-passport holders from 79 countries currently have nationwide visa-free access: 50 under China's unilateral policy and 29 under mutual agreements. If your passport is not listed as visa-free, a visa is normally required for a standard visit; separate transit and regional exemptions may still apply. Check the MFA visa-free FAQ and your local Chinese embassy before travel.
